This new version is working fine so far! Thanks again!
This looks really useful though it is somewhat unusable on the Samsung Series 7 Slate. The window is too big for the native 1366×768 screen, so the bottom buttons are off the screen.
Just something to keep in mind for us tablet pc users.
Thanks for your reply. This is a little embarrassing bug, but i actually don’t have any Slate available for testing. So I implemented driver support and so on (and it should be ok), but it is still „experimental“ because I never had a Slate in my hands.
I will fix this bug in next release.
I was able to work around the issue by switching my slate to portrait mode before running your utility (this effectively made the resolution 768×1366), which let me see the apply button. The downside being that now the right side of the app is cut off.
It’s a minor issue imo, but if you want me to test anything for you feel free to contact me. My gmail is jjb1977. Thanks for making this by the way.
So I was little experimenting with the desktop size and still feel a little bit confused. The Tool should have fixed Form size (about 730×680) so it should fit in your slate desktop perfectly without missing parts. At Win7 and XP with resolution 1024×768 there are no problems with form size at my test computers. Problem similar to your description is occuring with lower resolutions (about 800×600). But it is possible that slate is configured different by default (for better readability, or who knows) and it is causing this behavior.
Edit: Yes, slate is set to 125% scale – thanks Josh.
good work!! Do you have also a solution for mac?
Hi, my tool is only for windows. Try the PenPressurizer by EricN.
I would like to report a bug with the current version. I am running Windows 7 x64 and I am running it elevated. I noticed I have to not use the pen to interact with the computer at all or the settings won’t stick. Launching the application with the pen alone (and using the mouse to allow it to run elevated) will stop all changes from being applied.
In essence: launch the program with the mouse ONLY and do not use the stylus until the settings have been applied and the service restarted.
Running v1.6.3.0 by the way.
Thanks for your report. I was trying to reproduce this bug in past few days, but without any luck. But i will take this report into the consideration in future developement and hopefully fix it.
same here!
oh, and thank you for this great tool!!
Ok, thanks for bug-report.
Hi! Great tool but…is it only for wacom tablets?
I have a Genius tablet and i don’t know if the configuration file is the same. Thanks and sorry for my english.
Yes, it’s only for Wacom – it is designed specifically for wacom driver.
There´s not a graphic curve at all when I open the program… Pressure graph window is completely empty. I run the program as an administrator, I have downloaded an uppdated driver for my wacom tablet… What have I done wrong?
It’s possible that the config file is empty, or without required settings (driver uses its default values). Try to run wacom preferences first – it should generate correct config file. After that it should be possible to use tablet tool.
Thanks so much. I have tried to manually adjust this before with no luck. my tablet feels much better now.

Great tool!
Unfortunately it seems like the software can’t find the pen pressure settings, when you’re also using the Wacom Mouse.
Forget what I just said, I tested it again and now it seems to work .
Wacom is actually coming up with innovative technology of combining pen and touch interaction in one device. With changing features in the user interface of the new operating systems, it is good that input systems are in par with the new technology.
This is a good program which enables users to optimize the sensitivity of the pens with Wacom tablets. I think I will try this application and see how it works.
1.6a doesn’t seem to be starting the service again; things work as expected if i start the service manually after clicking „Apply Changes“ though.
I forgot to say i’m running WinXP SP3 here
Thanks for reply and bug report, I will check this behavior and try to find what is causing it.
It could be just a permission problem. XP should after clicking „Apply Changes“ show you a dialog (Run As) asking for elevating rights. Problem is that there is a checkbox („Protect my computer…“) that is checked by default. With this checkbox checked the tablet service will not restart. (Yeah the important part of the warning text about the checkbox -> („.., but selecting it might cause the program to function improperly.“) is always at the end. But generally, I agree with this M$ policy. For normal applications, even if they need elevated rights, it is not common to start/stop services. Unfortunately, this application is trying to help user to make the service restart process easier, so it is necessary.
Hope this helps, KZ
where is the mac version
this has been a great help. my wacom has always been a pain in the wrist.
This is awesome! Where do you hook yourself to be able to do such thing? Do you think it would be theorically possible to apply some sort of function to the coordinates as well? We have special needs when building DIY Cintiqs and this might be the answer (if it can work).
Hi,
first I have to apologize for my delayed answer I was a bit busy last few days. I’m assuming that the problem for DIY Clinq that could occur is synchronization between the overlayed monitor and tablet below. That it is difficult to align properly these two to match.
I’m not sure if there is some function designed by wacom, but…
1/ In config files are saved data that are used to select only a portion of the tablet. So it could be possible to use this to your advantage
to create on the tablet cropped part that should match with the monitor.
2/Once i had a keyboard with „special“ keys and without special bloatware application these keys was dead. The solution was a custom made
application that captured specials packets generated by these keys and executed desired action. Theoretically it could be possible to use similar
approach to this. Tablet is generating packets with pen info and is sending them to the driver/application. The idea is to capture the packet before
arrives to its destination and modify it, practically correcting the difference between pen and monitor.
I was searching and found this small application that should be able capturing wacom packets (Wacom HID Dump) – http://code.google.com/p/waxbee/
First of all, i’ll echo other people’s feelings: thank you so much for providing us with this! 😀
Now that is out of the way, i got two suggestions:
Could you please add a way to edit the coordinates by typing the values instead of having to move points around please?
And could you add a third grayscale gradient, this one showing the resulting pressure informed to the sofware based on the current settings please?
Hi, thanks for feedback and tips.
„Manual“ editor of values is planned for next release. Rough implementation is already done, but it will take some time…
About the „third“ gradient… I will think about a way how to better show the changes in pressure curve, but the problem is that the real output is combination of driver and drawing software. And both have their limitations.
This is awesome! you have no idea how much you have helped me. Thanks and God bless!
The pressure curve tool for tablets helped me alot!
Thank you very much, it works like a charm! Very good readme too!
I am looking forward to less wrist cramps now because it helped me lower the required pressure untill it registers as actual input.
The default properties dialog only allowed to choose from „Soft“ to „Firm“ but „Soft“ wasn’t soft enough for me.
(Win7 x64, Volito2 (CTF 420/g))
That fixed it! It works perfect with XP now as well.
Thanks a lot, and I’m glad to be of some help. This program is great 🙂
Good job~!
Finally…fixed.
Thank you again… the reports were really useful.
I have some plans of future development of this program, e.g. advanced configuration of „Click threshold“….
Click threshold configuration sounds fantastic, I’ll look forward to the update.
And finally its done… .o)
Version 1.1.0.0 allows to configure Pressure threshold. It is good to change these values when is the lower (first) point of pressure curve changed, to avoid „clipping“.
But.. all bugs I noticed should be fixed, all features working, but the program deserve some more testing so.. still beta.
I run XP Pro. (I hate vista) It’s still giving the same problem and won’t force create the right directories with the new update.
Thanks again for your feedback.
OK, second try to fix the problem.
I looked trough the code and – it is a few lines – could not long time see any problem. But — the backup file names are generated with time and date stamps e.g. PenTablet_12-02-2009_11-15-00.bak to easy find the right one if something goes wrong. And my locale settings reports date as e.g 17.07.2009, but it is Czech date format and in the other countries is more common format like 17/07/2009. And if the date format contains slashes/backslashes the path to the backup file looks like it contains more folders e.g. c:BackupPenTablet_17 72009_11-15-00.bak instead of c:BackupPenTablet_17-07-2009_11-15-00.bak. I hope this is the problem and should be now fixed (version 1.0.2.0). The time and date separators should be always set to ‚-‚ now.
Again thanks for your report and please let me know if it works…
I figured out that there are some problems related to Vista and user privileges (folder for backup is not created if the program haven’t rights to do it)
Finally i was able test the program on Vista and now is modified to ask for rights, because to start and stop tablet service it is necessary.
So the program (new version 1.0.1.0) should now work on Vista without problems.
Hi, thank you for using this program.
I check the problem you reported and i try to fix it in new version.
Sorry for the error and thanks for your report.
I manually created the path it was trying to make, then it saved.
When I try to run the program, I click apply and it tries to save the backup and reports „location does not exist.“ So it doesn’t save anything.
Thank you very much. This helped a lot.
